We Found Your New Favorite Mugs, Just In Time For Fall
Ah, fall—the exciting moment when everyone switches their drink orders from iced to hot and indulges in a piping mug of something delicious (might I recommend this bulletproof pumpkin spice latte?) There's something really comforting about starting or finishing your day with a warm drink, especially when there's a little bite in the air to make things extra cozy.
This season, let's all make a ritual of actually sitting down with our beverages and designating it a tech-free time to just be. Add in a beautiful mug and you have an everyday occasion that feels special and sacred. Here are a few that we're loving this fall, for every kind of sipper.
For the artist: Brian Giniewski Mug
Philly-based Brian Giniewski makes ceramics with a twist. They're whimsical, colorful, and cheerfully reminiscent of an ice cream cone dipped in chocolate. You can buy a set of two complementary mugs, or get yours solo.

For the globe-trotter: GlobeIn Handblown Glass Mug
GlobeIn isn't your typical online marketplace. The company tracks down some of the most talented artisans around the developing world and presents their offerings alongside their story. This mug, for example, was hand-blown in Jalisco, Mexico, using recycled glass. It's only suitable for cold drinks but perfect for those of us who just can't give up that iced matcha.

For the one on a budget: IKEA ÖVERSIKT Mug
Confession time: My favorite mug of all time was $3 from IKEA. It's the perfect size and shape, and it's simple but has a little pattern, and it's seen me through many a morning. Alas, it's now discontinued, but this striped one is very similar. It's a nice reminder that you don't need to spend a ton of money on something to have it feel special and sacred.

For the tech lover: Ember Ceramic Mug
For anyone who has ever made tea and set it aside to cool down only to completely forget it exists, this one's for you. Ember mugs sync up to an app on your phone or smartwatch so you can control its temperature with one click. You just set your "perfect temp" for different beverages, and the mug will alert you once your drink has reached the magic number and keep it there until the last sip. It's on the more expensive side, but can you put a price on never burning your tongue again?
Ember Ceramic Mug ($79.95)
For the minimalist: Saint Heron Ceramic Mug
Saint Heron's shop seeks to "celebrate diversity, culture, and the innovation of artists of color," according to its insanely beautiful website. The curated collection of art, books, and music features these minimalist mugs that we want to fill all of our kitchen cabinets with.
Saint Heron Ceramic Mug ($39)
For the tree-hugger: HusKee Reusable Coffee Cup
Coffee mugs made of discarded coffee husks? It's just meta enough to work. You'd think that coffee husks start to break down when filled with hot liquids, but the Aussie-based company HusKee has found a way to engineer them into a more durable material. Each cup also comes with a lid so you can take your drink on the go, since HusKee is ultimately on a mission to cut down on the amount of take-away cups that end up in a landfill each year. As of now, the cups are shipping only in Australia, but you can sign up to be the first to know when they make their way to the United States.
HusKee Charcoal cups ($52AUD for a pack of 4)
